Clubs & Activities

There are a range of clubs and activities offered through out the year, if you would like your child to join a club please contact the school office. They run every week except for the first two weeks of the academic year, and the last week. Each term new letters are issued giving details of clubs being offered to make sure all children have an opportunity if they wish to take part.

BREAKFAST CLUB 8.00am-8.30am

The cost is £1 per day for children per day who can choose from a variety of cereals, toast and juice.

The charge is 50p per day for any child entitled to a free school meal through the pupil premium.

Please let the school office know if you intend to send your child so we can ensure they have a place.

AFTER-SCHOOL SPORTS CLUBS 3.10pm - 4.10pm

These are offered to children in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

At the beginning of each term, a letter is sent out detailing the clubs on offer, and for which year groups. You are asked to return these as soon as possible as places are limited.

We try to ensure all children have a place for at least one term each year for the more popular clubs.

There is a charge of £25 per term, however for families entitled to free school meals, this will be half the price, £12.50.

Specialist Clubs

To support children in developing a sense of responsibility we run a variety of clubs during the school day that all children in Years 3,4,5 and 6 can apply to be a part of. This includes:

ECO Club - Children who show a keen interest in wildlife and/or protecting the environment can choose to apply for this club. The children support us in saving energy, monitoring and supporting the ecosystem within the school grounds and feeding the birds that nest in our nest boxes. They actively support our Climate Action Plan, which you can access here.

Climate Action Plan

S.C.S.A. - Shenton Computing Support Agents - Some children love computers and programming. This group of children are ESafety specialists and support children in Y1 and Y2 during their computing lessons. You may also see them giving technical support to teachers!

Student Council - At the beginning of the year, children are invited to stand as their class counsellor. After a vote, each councillor attends meetings regularly to support the school for and on behalf of the children. They choose charitable events to suppport the wider community, monitor and support the school lunch menu and offer other ideas to improve the school for all.

Sports Leaders - This is a group of children that become specialists in healthy lifestyles, and are trained to teach others. They support at playtimes with different activities to encourage each other to stay active.
