Admissions
NURSERY / FOUNDATION 1
If you child is 3 years old, they are eligible for a fully funded place within our Nursery. Whilst you can complete an admissions form as soon as your child is 2 years old, we will admit your child from the 1st September following their 3rd birthday.
If you would like to register your child for F1 please complete a form and return it to us.

The Foundation 1 session runs from 8.40 a.m. to 11.40 a.m., Monday to Friday.
RECEPTION / FOUNDATION 2 / YEAR 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Admissions for children aged 4 to 11 years (for all other classes) is managed by Leicester City Council.

Once your child has been allocated a place at Shenton, you will receive a letter. The school will also receive a letter. Once you have received this, please contact us as soon as possible. We will be able to give you a school prospectus if you have not already received one, and explain routines and timetables to you. We will also agree a start date for your child.
TRANSFER TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

PARENTS
The parents of Year 6 children receive a letter from the authority in September stating which school has been selected for their child. The letter contains information as to the procedure for changing the LEA’s selection. If you need any advice please talk to your child’s class teacher.
CHILDREN
Year 6 children have several opportunities during the year to visit the two main Secondary Schools close to our school, which are Crown Hills and Moat Community College. Information is sometimes received from other secondary schools about open days, which we will also inform parents about.
