The children at Shenton love Sports and Physical Education. All children learn about different sports, exercises and how to stay healthy each year. Children in Y3 & Y4 are given swimming lessons. Children across the school are involved in a range of competitions and events to promote a healthy lifestyle.
In 2014 we were able to upgrade our facilities with the introduction of an artificial surface play area, which is used to support these opportunities.
The school has daily lunchtime and after-school clubs that cover a range of physical activities from 'Street Dance' through to basketball. We also have a Saturday morning Football Academy and take part in local school competitions.
The school has been allocated 'Sports Premium Funding' from the government, if you click on the link you can find out how we are using it to support the development of our children's health and fitness.
Many of the children in our school would say that PE is their favourite subject. To support children in developing the appropriate attitudes and teamwork skills, we train children each year as Sports Leaders. They lead activities that support others to become fitter, healthier and to enjoy more opportunities to play sports/games. Come and see them in action!
